I’m getting the most important piece of artwork I own on my right arm (my travel arm) with the word “wanderlust”. The artwork is an old drawing, probably from the 40’s or 50’s, of a pirate ship on the sea.
What makes it so important to me is that it’s an old piece of artwork from my grandparents house, and it’s always been my favorite. I’ve always loved old ships, and I’ve admired this piece of art in their home since I was practically born. Maybe this piece is what really started my love for ships and the sea (as well as living by the Great Lakes). And before I moved to NYC, they gave it to me. I cherish this piece with all my heart, just as much as I adore and cherish every moment with my grandma and grandpa, and want it permanently on me. So instead of getting their actual portraits, I’m getting this drawing. It not only symbolizes my love for travel and my love for ships/sea/this artwork in particular.. but most importantly, it symbolized my absolutely amazing grandparents.
